From a young age, I thought that high school was supposed to be just like a movie. From High School Musical to Mean Girls, I expected high school to be a glamorous experience, and I was wrong. It was almost Super Bad-Esque. As I prepare to walk across the stage on May 30^th, I find myself feeling a little nostalgic, remembering all the greatest experiences of my high school career. And I’m not talking about the boring things like Prom, I’m talking about the funniest moments.

3. Wigs

On March 18, 2023, I was hanging out with my friends at one of their houses. I can’t exactly remember why we were raiding her room, but we ended up digging through her closet. At the very top, we discovered a mysterious box of wigs, and immediately knew the night had taken a turn for the best. We couldn’t stop laughing and wondering why she had a box of wigs. I claimed the bright orange Hinata wig from Haikyuu!! and my friend claimed the hyper-realistic brunette man wig. That wig sparked the idea of catfishing. With some clever angles and a low voice, we convinced our friends crush that she had a mysterious new boyfriend. For that whole night, we convinced all of snapchat that our friend was a dude.

2. Eva’s Car Accident

On January 11, 2024, my view on driving changed forever. My friends and I were on our way to take pictures at a boys’ basketball game for a newspaper assignment. Since Eva was the only one at her time with a driver’s license, she drove us there. After we got the photos we needed, we decided to head to Culvers and enjoy some custard. We ironically filmed TikTok videos about Eva being an Uber driver in the empty parking lot. We dropped our friend off first and that is where things went wrong. To this day, I’m not sure if Eva checked her blind spots or just hoped for the best, but she backed straight into a parked Jeep out of our friend’s driveway. The moment was so traumatic, the only thing I remember from the accident is a call from our friend saying, “My neighbors are going to call the cops!”

1. Goodwill Underwear

On April 29, 2023, my friends and I decided to go thrifting on a Friday night. While the goal was to expand our wardrobes for cheap, the night ended with me laughing so hard I peed my pants. While scouring the pajama rack, one of my friends and I found a pair of underwear that looked like something your grandma would wear. That’s when I had a slightly evil idea. I suggested we sneak up and place the underwear on our other friend’s head. For reasons I still don’t understand, my friend went along with it and did the prank herself. The next thing I knew, we were quietly walking toward our unsuspecting target like ninjas. In one fast motion, the underwear landed perfectly on her head. To this day, I have never laughed harder or peed my pants as bad as that night.
