What grade are you in?
I’m a senior.
What traits do you have that make you a good leader?
I have been working with art my whole life and I really love making people feel included. I like hearing other people’s ideas too and being able to implement them in our meetings.
What has made you want to be the president of NAHS?
I had a lot of ideas for NAHS especially my freshman year. Also, I saw a lot of good leaders in my first few years of the club that made me want to better myself as a member and leader.
What is your favorite part about NAHS?
I love the events we do in our community like face painting and murals. It is fun to see the kids loving and enjoying our art.
What special tasks are you assigned to as president?
I run the monthly meetings and work to put together our art show at the end of the year. I also get to plan our trunk or treat and silent auction.
How do you help new members get accustomed to NAHS?
I really stress to the new members that NAHS isn’t about being amazing at art or being available all the time. If you’re enjoying art and spreading it positively, that’s all that matters.
Do you have any leaders that help you run NAHS?
Yes, we have five officers and we each have a unique role. Our PR does a really good job running the Instagram and my vice president really helps me with picking out themes and planning events.
How did your love of art grow?
Being able to experiment with all the different mediums and having lots of materials growing up really helped me realize that I truly love all art. I’ve done art for as long as I can remember.
Are you happy that you are a part of NAHS?
Yes, it has really shaped me to be the person I am today.
