Why did you apply to become president?
I chose to apply because I’ve been in the club since I was a freshman and I have such good memories of past presidents I want to carry on their legacy.

How well do you work with the other Co-president, Hailey Babinec?
Hailey is like one of my best friends and we’ve been in DECA together since the beginning. We’ve gone to Orlando 2 years in a row and can’t think of someone better to share the title with.

What helps you manage your position?
Definitely all the people who I work with. Knowing I have Hailey and other people to help me makes it feel way less stressful.

What are some goals you believe this role will help you achieve?
Well since this club is a pretty big club, having this position as vice president of DECA club gives me a sense of how to take lead. I feel the experience of being in control will help me learn how to be a leader for my future business.

How are you going to change now that you’re a leader in the club?
Now that I’m in a higher position I think I’m going to be more vocal in my thoughts with how to run the club. Last year I was scared to speak up on how I felt but now I’m ready to take a stand.

Why would you recommend this club to students?
Well, I would recommend this club to new students because we are all like a big family. We kind of lean on each other’s shoulders when we need it. Also, it is really good for your college applications because it is fun while also being kind of educational. If you get good you can go on different trips across the country, which is pretty cool.
