Avon High School Hosts Annual “Signing Day” for Seniors

This Friday, May 3, Avon High School put on “Signing Day,” an event celebrating graduating seniors and their postsecondary choices for college and careers.

Following National Decision Day on May 1, seniors were encouraged to wear gear representing their college of choice and take pictures to commemorate the next step they are taking in their journeys to success.

Senior Quinn Brown, who is going to IU Indianapolis, said that choosing what to do after high school is an important decision to make that can affect the rest of your life.

“I chose IUI because I like how it’s in the city,” said Brown. “And it has a really good chemistry program, which is my major.”

Brown said that while many factors go into choosing what college or career you go into it, the bullet point that matters most in the decision is what you believe is right for you and your future.

“Don’t go where all of your friends are,” said Brown. “Just go where you think you’ll belong and you’ll find friends. If you want to go somewhere that nobody else is going, then do that because that’s what’s best for you.”
