The Super Bowl is almost here, and Avon students are getting ready for the big game. Whether you are all about football or just watching the halftime show, the Super Bowl has always been a great excuse to meet up and hang out with friends and family. With the Chiefs and Eagles set to face off this Sunday the big question is who Avon students want to win?
The Chiefs are currently predicted to win the Super Bowl and if they do, they will be the first team to win three Super Bowls in a row. On the other hand, the Eagles have only won one Super Bowl, back in 2017 when they upset the Patriots led by Tom Brady. If the Eagles walk away with the win on Sunday, they will have defeated two of the best teams in NFL history.
The Avon Echo conducted a poll to ask Avon students what team they thought would take home the super bowl. With 58 responses, Avon students predicted that the Eagles would defeat the Chiefs: 62% of respondents voted in favor of the Eagles.
These are some of the reasons people are rooting for either team:
“Eagles because the chiefs have won twice, I can definitely see the eagles locking in this year and they know what to expect because they played each other in 2023 super bowl. Just hope Jalen Hurts locks in,” senior Ana Acosta said.
“I am supporting the Chiefs because most of my family lives in Kansas and I’ve been a fan since I was seven,” sophomore Hannah Foster said.
“I am supporting the Eagles because this is their second time in the Super Bowl with the Chiefs, and I would like to see Saquon Barkley be MVP this year,” freshman Calvin Bishop said.
“[Chiefs] I’d like to see a team win for a third time in a row, in the Super Bowl to see history be made for all the big football fans,” sophomore Hannah O’Brien said.
“Eagles. The Chiefs’ devil magic and ref help needs to be stopped,” junior Ian Roell said.
