The football team kicked off the season with a 26-point victory over the Plainfield Quakers. The Orioles were the first to give their fans something to cheer about, scoring a a touchdown on their first possession. They managed to keep this lead, finishing with a score of 58-32.
A successful start to the football season meant an excited student section in the stands. Senior Reggie Pearson described the atmosphere as “very electric, everyone had school pride… [The student section] is very uplifting.”
The marching band’s half time show matched the excitement of the players and audience. Junior Hannah King, who performed during the half time show said, “It’s a lot of hard work and dedication. It’s really fun to be around the people I’m around. Most of the time it’s pretty exciting.”
The Oriole Army will be at Ben Davis this Friday, Aug. 25, cheering on their football team in the second game of the season.
