In the spirit of the spooky season, Avon High School put on its annual Trunk or Treat last night. The event is hosted by Student Government in a combined effort between executive board, class officers, and our club presidents, to raise money for the Avon Education Foundation. Clubs are given the opportunity to dress up with certain themes and pass out candy to families around the community.
Student Body President Hannah Schafer commented on the level of community involvement.
“[The high involvement] is probably the hardest part about Trunk or Treat every year and just making sure that we have high schoolers prepared for the amount of [kids] we’ll have involved with this,” she said.
Senior Megan Castrataro spent the night at the National Honor Society table, where club members dressed as Hollywood celebrities.
“I think just the event as a whole is a great way for us to gather the community together and celebrate the holiday,” said Castrataro. “I really loved seeing all the kids. They looked so cute.”
This year, the school broke former records, raising about $2,061 for AEF.
