Immersed in a book in room D122, are a dozen of the Avon High School Book Club members, lost in fictional worlds.

Book Club hopes to be a place where students can feel free to talk about their books and do fun activities and discussions.

Another year of Book Club and continuing to grow, Club President, junior Audra Jones, said that Book Club is a place for students who enjoy reading, to come and discuss what they read.

“I really like the opportunity to get together with people and discuss books,” Jones said.

There are two types of meetings in Book Club, one discussion, and the other being a craft or just a time to read. Three years as a member and now president, Jones said the Book Club is a good place for people to get into reading.

“Book Club is a place for people who like to read or want to get into it,” Jones said.

A new member this year, freshman Ia Price, said she thinks Book Club will be a great place for her to be able to share her interest in reading. She is excited for some of the activities they get to do, like making custom bookmarks with charms.

“It’s always been interesting to me to hear other people’s opinions on the same line of text,” Price said.

Every meeting is held during SRT in Mrs. Wallace’s room, D122. Jones said she tries to keep it as relaxed as she possibly can every meeting, with activities and just reading and discussing the books they read and forming opinions on them.

 “I get to read with other people and get different viewpoints and interpretations of it,” Price said.
