The Avon Orioles Girls Varsity basketball team won against Greenfield Central Thursday night with a final score of 40-35. It was the final home game of the season.
The Orioles lead the majority of the game and defended themselves against the Greenfield Central Cougars through a close fourth and final quarter.
Sophomore Indiah Kendrick said the team been in that situation many times before, where the score is very close during the fourth quarter.
“I’m just very proud of my team for playing until the end of the game and not giving up even though they were catching back up,” Kendrick said.
Another player on the team, Sophomore Genesis Castro, said she was very proud of how the team fought back and came together.
“If we continue to do that and keep the momentum up we can go far in the future as a team,” Castro said.
