What is the overview of Black Student Union?
Jade Price: It’s a place to create community within school. We have a big focus on union and bring awareness to the black community in which we have events for including a tailgate.
What does a typical meeting look like?
Harmony Omoshewo: It depends. When we have a meeting it’s when the group and exec boards talk about future, ideas, and what wants to be seen. Actives include our tailgate, painting, and more. They’re separate but they’re fun.
Why should people join?
Omoshewo: I think people should join for community, to learn and understand black culture and to meet people who think the same.
What does Black Student Union mean to you?
Omoshewo: It means a lot to me because these people feel the same as I do about the black community. It also spreads awareness, not only for the community but for learning.
Is there anything else you’d like to tell people?
Omoshewo: You should join BSU.
