The Girls high school golf team is off to a” PAR-fect” start! The lady orioles were invited to the Plainfield invitational Aug 3, competing against many schools within Hendricks County. The team went tee to tee competing and pushing their limits to keep going through the heat. Player Kelsey Glazik was able to bring the lady orioles lowest score on the leader board, shooting a 93 at deer creeks golf course.  

When asking freshman player Sara Majors what she thinks the team and her individually could work on this year she said, “Sand hitting out of the sand.”  

Majors states hitting out of sand traps and getting through the short play is what brings scores up, but with lots of practice she believes the teams scores will drop tremendously. 

When asked about the ladies about how the team is together Majors explained “the team is good. Everybody is really kind.” 

Lady orioles start really pushing through pace by growing friendships, connecting as a team, getting to play a sport they love and having fun. But friendships are not the only thing in which they are working. 

Coach Croff entering his second year as the girls’ golf coach, said “more short game practice.”  When asked what the team could work on to better themselves for the season to help drop scores and have better results. 

Croff wants the ladies to improve and push hard this season so they can get through sectionals, he said “a goal for the team is to make it through sectionals. We got pretty close last year, and I think if we play as well as we are able to, we will have a chance to get through sectional this year.” 

Croff believes the girls have what it takes; with practice and more short game work they can have a good run and could get through sectionals.  

 The golf team is beginning to prepare for sectionals with upcoming tournaments against Lebanon golf team and the Brownsburg bulldogs. Getting match ready and into the competition mindset to fight their way through sectionals. 

The lady orioles are off to a good and steady start to the 2026 season. They continue their preparation for sections, taking one swing at a time and dropping team scores.
