Along with the weight room and updated cafeteria, one of the first new additions to the high school students have the chance to experience is the new and improved Ozone.  DECA adviser Adam Clark assisted in the design and the improved Ozone along with co-adviser Troy Drosche in order to ensure it met their goals in keeping the Ozone’s longevity with the ever-updating school.

“The space looks nicer. It’s a modern space. We have more visibility, we’re connected to the cafeteria,” said Clark. “We have two card readers and a cash line, which means that we can do about 150% faster of a job.”

However, arguably the most notable improvement is the addition of a separate entrance and exit. Allowing students to move in and out in a fluid motion while reducing traffic jams resolves a safety concern that was a priority in the new space.

“The traffic flow was bad, it was cramped,” said Clark. “We just needed an upgrade to make sure that we were keeping pace with the new facilities.”

The overall setup and additions to the new Ozone create a safer, quicker, and more comfortable environment for students which, ultimately, was the goal of the Ozone for DECA as a resource for AHS students.

“The Ozone is for the students, and we want every student to feel comfortable coming in and through. We’re open to any sort of feedback, whether it’s positive or negative,” Clark said. “And we really want to be something that unites our school that people are interested in.”
