Kei Alawiye, a senior at Avon High School, has officially made her entrance into the music scene. On February 2nd, the young artist released her first song, “Alibi,” on all music platforms, marking a significant milestone in her budding music career.

“Alibi” has been the result of years of passion and support from her family. She described how she has always loved music and “started writing lyrics to songs at least two years ago.”

“I wanted to put at least one of them [songs] out there,” said Alawyie. “I just want to keep releasing my music. I love it and want people to love it with me.”

Her community has rallied around Alawiye, celebrating her achievement. She remembers the  first moment she sang the chorus to her dad, and he encouraged her to finish the song. When she finally completed it, he “was like, ‘we’re going to record this now!’”

She thought he was joking but he wasn’t.

Finally, after years of work, the song “Alibi” is out on all platforms for listeners to enjoy.

To describe the song in three words Alawiye chose catchy, upbeat, and exciting.

The release of “Alibi” is a dream come true for Alawiye, and a significant first step in her music career.

“I was so nervous during this process,” Ola shared. “But I was also so excited for people to listen to it. I really love the song, so I was hoping people would love it too.”

Listeners are encouraged to support Alawiye by streaming “Alibi” on all platforms and following her musical journey as she continues to develop her craft and share her voice with the world.
